August 16th, 2010:
Hi Again!
A few years ago I started a “Clean the F-Cove” day. Lots of boaters showed up to help. This year I would like to see all who use the Cove as a great place to have fun during the summer also show up to lend a hand. So How about we all show up Saturday September 18 around 12 noon with gloves, rakes, bags, and the determination to clean all the junk other left behind?
Thank You

First time at f-cove this Sunday, 8.9.10 and we were leaving around 5pm and the state police were shooting in to the entrance of the cove. What happened? Great time otherwise…

June 4th, 2010:
I just spoke with someone who was parked in front of the DJ that was up on the shore at the top of the F. (Memorial Day Weekend).....They plan on being there EVERY Sunday. They setup the DJ table, a 10' x 10' canopy, and had a dance area, of the sorts, up on top of the beach.
Someone please tell them to stop. The usage of the Cove is questionable as it is, this is just total disregard of the Federal Wildlife Refuge.
Thanks!

6th, 2009: I was at f-cove today and talked at lengh to a US Federal Wet Lands person who was taking pictures
of all the boats. He said he wants to close F-cove and his plans are to put a barrier at the entrance
to stop the big boats. He wants to put in trails so people can walk and enjoy nature trails. He said
he is fighting the mayor to close f-cove forever. Now I did not like the young kids blaring their crazy
music all over f-cove. These type of people are what this federal agent wants to stop. It is to bad
there are a few dumb asses that will spoil F-cove for everyone. Then there were the people, mostly
under 21, drinking for hours and then boating off -- another dumb stupid set of people that will
ruin the location for us all. I would like to see police ticketing these people who only care for
the party atmosphere. As to how to stop the feds from closing f-cove I dont know. He told me the
federal government owns the land and under the water and they plan to close it. Perhaps the owner of
this web site can post where we can write local town officals to stop this fed. There are some people
like the fed I met who are animal rights nuts who care more about the frogs than letting humans enjoy
the beauty of places like f-cove.

26th, 2009: The wife and I took our boat out for our first cruise of 2009. We didn't pull into the F-Cove but we did do a drive by. We noticed a few happy F-Cove'ers enjoying the peace and quiet. That was probably the least amount of boats that we'll see at the F-Cove on such a beautiful weekend in 2009. As for us we wanted to enjoy the light boat traffic and just idle around the Bay. This time of year we find it to be some of the most relaxing boating. The bay is at its clearest (the silt) hasn't been turned up by all the boating traffic. Not to mention with the light boating traffic no wakes to deal with. After a long winter freeze it's just what the Doctor ordered.

14th, 2008: My wife and I have been coming to the F-Cove for the last two years now, and love it as a place to hang out and meet other boaters and have fun without spending a ton on gas for our boat. Recently we have been noticing a few other boaters leaving their beer cans and other junk behind? At best we would have to name them “PIGS”. I have asked them to pick-up before they leave! And I bet you know the out-come of that? Anyway I would like to know if we could put together a “Clean the F-Cove Day” within the next few weekends. We would be happy to bring the garbage cans and bags to collect the “PIGS” droppings!
Please let us know your thoughts?
Thanks

27th, 2008: I'd like to apologies to Mike, as he has pointed out we do not post anybodies real names, email addresses or phone numbers on this site. It is easier for us to do it that way than trying to figure out who may or may not want that info on this site. Keeping with that thought we should have edited out any identifying descriptions posted in entries to the Captain's log which could be used to identify any boaters. So here are new rules or I guess the first rules of the site. Your posts can and will be edited if it contains insulting language aimed towards any other boaters or they identify any boater other than yourself by name or descriptions. We may also choose not to post any such emails edited or not in the future.
We created this site to share the good times we've had at the F-cove with others and want this site to be a fun positive experience for all. We will try harder in the future to keep it that way.

Is there a reason why you are not posting my return comment about me getting stuck coming into the f-cove? I think its only fair that people hear both sides of the story! People still can't believe that you would put some nonsense on this site anyway. Is Race a friend of yours ? Is that why its on there? Please fill me in we all want to know. Its also funny how there is no phone number or persons name to talk to on this web site. Just fake names that people hide behind & make rude comets, here's my name & Number call me or email me or post my return comment. Thanks,

25th, 2008: Nice site we were surprised to find it.
We’ve been regulars to the cove for years. But unfortunately the cove has been over run with drunks, playing loud music and showing no consideration for other boaters. It got so bad last week after my 11 year old daughter got hit with a football (with no apology) we had to leave. Boats tied to the back of beached boats and then swimmers in the middle of the cove in tubes making it impossible to maneuver the boat to get out. We’ve learned to now stay near the entrance which we did yesterday and had a great day. The state police were there maybe if the keep showing a presence things might get back to how it was, a great place to have fun with the family.

25th, 2008: Yes another inexperienced boater strikes again! In regards to the rude comment made about the XXXXXXXX getting stuck at the F-Cove, SORRY my boat got stuck going over the sand bar. The Boat drafts 3.5’ going over a sand bar that the water has a depth of 1.5’ isn’t easy. No I wasn’t sitting there like a XXXXXXXXX I was trying to get over with my engines racing and drives up. SORRY I’m fortunate enough to have a XX something XXXXXXXXXX (according to you) that draws 3.5’ of depth. (By the way it’s a XXXXXXXXXXXXX) Maybe instead of sitting there bitching and watching the show waiting for something to happen try helping a fellow boater out buddy or did you not take your boating coarse and therefore you did not know how to maneuver your vessel properly to stay out of trouble. My suggestion to you is learn how to drive your boat better and you won’t do self damage to your boat or others. You also might want to stay away from the F-Cove till you get more boating experience. I’ve been boating 30 Years and never had a problem like you are crying about now. I found the F-Cove to be for experienced boaters because of the heavy boat traffic which sounds like you can’t handle. Anytime you want to discuss this matter instead of writing cry baby letters come over to me and we can resolve this problem man to XXXXXXX. I always park on the right side of the Cove of course you know my boat by now but have someone else bring you over I don’t want you to hit my boat or do damage to surrounding fellow boaters. Next time when you complain about somebody else in writing check your spelling, or there is a thing called spell check!

July
26th, 2008 1714hrs: Conditions,
partly cloudy, 10mph winds
Upon entering F-cove, I
proceeded west toward the last branch of the cove. As I past
the firehouse caterers vessel, an approiximate, XXft vessel
back off the bank of the south side shore line. from there,
the captain did nothing. Engine running. At this time, I
dropped my starboard motor back into Neutral, while the other
one was already in Neutral. I waited. and waited..... The
XXXXXXXXX in the freeking XXXXXXXXXXX just sat there like a tart! He did nothing
to manuver his boat, and just floated there. The wind was
bloing from the ocean, I had limited manuverabuility, the wind
working against me, other people in the water, and other
peoples property on either side, putting me in a possition and
the boat behind me, to cause damage, cause captain XXXXXXXXXX
just wanted to float from oneside of the lagoon to the other.
and after I went to the end of the lagoon and turned around, a
XXXXXXXXXX was still blocking half of the
lagoon.

July 4th, 2008:
We went to Toms River with the Marinemax crew to anchor out and watch the fireworks the 4th of July. The following day we headed to Southwinds and stayed overnight. They have a great outdoor bar with a pool next door. They also had a pretty good band playing. We are heading back there and I'll get a few pictures of the bar area. They charge $3.00 per foot for the trans. slips and checkout is 12 noon. We had a great time!!!!!

Hey guy's I just wanted to give you a quick update.
Good Times 2 hasn't been at the F-Cove for a while. The reason being is we ran a ground on our way to A.C. in May, on a get away. We just got our feet wet again last week. We were up on blocks getting fixed by Brant Beach Marinemax in LBI the past few weeks. We have to say that they did a great Job. The boat drives as good as when we first bought it. Please keep the pictures coming we love to see whats been going on.
By the way have fun but please keep it under control.... and handle your BUZZZ.....

May 16, 2008:
Great web site ! We discovered it by google-ing f-cove after we saw it listed in the Marinemax Getaways.
We just moved our boat from Brant Beach on LBI to the Highlands area near sandy hook so the trip to Tice’s Shoal is now a 50NM cruise for us – a long haul for our Sea Ray 215EC. We’re looking forward to checking out f-cove on our next trip to Tice’s since it’s somewhat closer.
For anyone adventurous enough to make a 35NM mile trip to the hook this summer (Sandy Hook that is) we have a nice shoal off Gateway National Recreation Park called “Skull Island” which features a guy selling Sabrett’s hot dogs from his boat, a bay side “pet friendly” beach and ocean beaches with walking distance of the bay (similar to Tice’s but more people and no pets except during winter months).

Hey F-cove!!!
This is Asst. Chief, Heather, from Firehouse Caterers. I wanted to thank everyone again for a great season last year. We had so much fun getting to know everyone. It was a tough year but we worked all the kinks out and we're coming back bigger than ever for this season. We can't wait to see all our new friends. Remember, we're only a phone call away from a hot lunch and we are also available for all your off site catering needs whether it be a backyard BBQ or a large dock party. Chief Rick can help you make all your plans. Look forward to seeing everyone soon.

Sept, 2007:
Hey,
I was just telling some "non-boating" friends about F Cove and as a goof I googled it and found your site. How cool is this!!! I've been going to F Cove for about ten years but usually just to drive thru and show friends what us nuts do on weekends. This summer we spent quite a few days in the "cove" and it really really was fun. Amazing at how the jelly fish pretty much stayed out of it. I'm in "Baywood" and our lagoons were loaded with them.
It was also way cool to see not one but two floating entrepreneurs out there most of the summer, Fireside Pub, and the other guy with the weenie boat.
Another great summer down the Jersey Shore this summer!!!

I just recently finished taking a boating
course called "Women On Water".

I'd let all of you out there know about it
incase you know someone who might be
interested in taking it. You can read an

April 4, 2007:
Today
we put our boat in the water. It wasn't
the best day, chilly and overcast with an
occasional drizzile. We took it from the
marina where we keep it over the winter
to where we keep it dock in the summer
but first we took a little cruise by the
F-cove. No one else was out on the water
but it is early in the year and still
cold out. We cruised for about an hour
and pulled into the dock.

| March 23,
2007: The
2007 boating season is just around the
Corner. For us it has begun with
the boat prep. Our 260 sundancer has been
sleeping @ Werlen Bros. for the
winter. This past week I started
the boat preps. I just pulled the shrink
wrap off and installed the camper cover.
To my delight the moisture bags which I
put in the cabin for the winter did their
job perfectly and there was not any damp
feel or musty smell in the cabin. I
sanded the bottom of the boat and did a
quick bottom paint job including putting
on an extra 2 coats on the bow of the
boat where it was very obvious that I
traveled to the F-Cove quite a bite due
to the original bottom paint being
totally worn off from nosing up. I also
sanded primed and painted my Bravo III
and Trim tabs. Just yesterday I
washed the boat from the gunnels to the
fresh coat of bottom paint and gave it a
good waxing, I figure I'll wash and wax
topside after I put it in the water in
April I just wanted take care of the
lower portion of the boat while I had
easy access to it on land. Still
on the list.
1.
Change the zincs
2.
Clean and wipe down the cockpit
3.
Reinstall all cockpit pads
4.
Reinstall all cabin pads
